What a crazy day”¦. We were in Freeport, ME for the L.L. Bean Summer Concert Series Festival. LOVED the cooler weather, but when the thunderstorms suddenly rolled in early afternoon, we started worrying that the show might have to be cancelled. I had been SO excited about the opportunity to open for Miss Patty Loveless and was really bummed about the weather possibly interrupting that chance!! However, I told Patty that she must have a little “Moses” in her, because close to showtime the storms just parted north and south of us and left us with perfect weather for the concert!!

The biggest damper of the day was hearing the sad news about Steve McNair, our beloved former Tennessee Titans Quarterback, who was tragically shot to death in Nashville earlier in the day. We all spent most of the afternoon being glued to the tv on the bus, going back and forth from ESPN coverage about McNair to The Weather Channel so we could find out if we were actually going to be playing a concert that night.

When they storms parted, I finally took the stage around 7:15pm with my friends Garry Murray and Matt McKenzie. They so sweetly offered to help out during my set, playing mando and bass with me! It was SO fun! The crowd was amazing and attentive and it is always a joy to hear what Garry and Matt bring to the musical table”¦. My friends, Kat and Monica had brought me “Peace and Relaxation” gifts earlier during the day AND they had a cool poster which read “NY and NJ loves Marcia” which they held up during my set!! THANKS GIRLS!! You make me smile”¦.

Also got to see friends and PL supporters, Bob and Barbara, Richard and Patti, and Nicole Spaller who runs the biggest PL fan based website out there. If you are a true Patty fan, you need to check out her site”¦www.patty-loveless.net

Patty came out for her set around 8pm and did an amazing job as usual. That woman is simply one of the most gifted voices God ever made”¦. And a wonderful person on top of that!! I have thoroughly enjoyed working with her and her amazing band! This was my last show with that group for awhile and I will miss them”¦..

Changes are hard sometimes. But I’m going to have to make a change concerning my Facebook and I hope everyone understands”¦”¦

I love people. ALL people!! That’s probably why I have so many “networking” pages on the internet, because I love staying in touch with family and friends. I also love hearing from fans!! It warms my heart to hear that my music has touched someone, so I love having a way for anyone to get in touch with me concerning my music. However, recently I’ve had some issues with the privacy of some family members on my Facebook, so I am closing my “friend” list down to ONLY family and close friends.

I'll be touring with the amazing Patty Loveless this fall, so please check her website for all the shows and try to come out and see us! Her new CD come out Sept. 9th.. be sure and pick up a copy!!

You know, as I wrote that last sentence, "pick up a copy" I realized that it's getting harder and harder to actually "pick up a copy" since there aren't many stores that carry CD's anymore. I guess you can get it online, but where DO you go to BUY cd's now? Walmart?

Where do you guys buy your cd's these days? I'm curious!!

I just wanted to say “Happy 2008” and wish you all an abundance of good things for the year to come! Some of you know that I had a bit of surgery last month (Dec. ’07) and I’ve been taking some time off recovering from that, so it’s been a slow beginning to 2008 for me! HOWEVER, the Dr. says I’m going to feel better than I have in a LONG time when I fully recover and I can’t wait!!

I'm really excited about this coming Monday night...My old band, "The Janglers" is going to be performing together for the first time in FIVE years!! I can't believe how the time passes us by so quickly. It really seems like last week that we were still playing together all the time.....

For those of you who don't know who The Janglers are: Kim Parent, Jim Kimball and ME! Also our trusty bass player, Don Kerce will be playing along too. We had a rehearsal yesterday and it was SO fun!! We all just fell right back into our parts like we had never been apart... Ya'll come out if you can!! Monday. 7:30pm. The French Quarter Cafe in Nashville, TN. All the COOL folks will BE THERE!!! ha!!

Speaking of COOL....thank GOODNESS fall is finally here!! I thought I was going to lose my mind with that heat wave that wouldn't leave in Aug./Sept....

Josh Turner, who my son Derek plays for, has a brand new cd out called "Everything's Fine". You should check it out.. I heard it recently and thought it was great. Especially a song called, "That's how he was raised." Amazing song.

Josh and the band have been doing ALOT of TV lately, promoting the new album... look for them on The Martha Stewart Show on Nov. 6th..... also they taped Hannity and Colmes on Fox News while they were in New York, but don't know yet when it will air. The CMA AWARDS are on next Wed. Nov. 7th... Josh is nominated and they will be performing so watch that show if you can!!

Well, Summer has certainly arrived in Nashville.. it's been HOT!! Last week was CMA Fan Fest Week (I still call it Fan Fair, but I guess I need to stop doing that!) and all those dedicated Country Music Fans here really got a taste of the hot and humid weather we have here! I did several shows last week, but all of mine were at night, so I didn’t have to endure the extremely hot afternoons. I am not really a “summer” person”¦. I hate being hot. I don’t really enjoy a lot of outdoor activities (camping, swimming, hiking etc----yuck!) so I just try my best to find the closest air-conditioning and stay there!!

It was nice to see several fans and friends who were in town for the shows!! All the Tanya Tucker fans, who came to see Miss T, but were nice enough to come to a “Marcia” show as well”¦. Thanks! I saw some Patty Loveless fans too”¦”¦ and even some Rodney Crowell followers who found me as well! It’s always great to see everyone.

Miss Elizabeth Cook has a new cd out. It’s called “Balls”. You should check it out. She is a wonderful talent and a cool chick as well. By the way, that’s me singing the bgv’s on “Sometimes it takes balls to be a Woman.” She also has a video out on that now”¦”¦if she is performing near you, you should go check out one of her gigs. I hear she ROCKS in concert!!

I have a few shows coming up this summer”¦.. I’ll keep everything posted here and on my myspace, so ya’ll come out if you can!! Derek is still out with Josh Turner, so go see THEM if you can too! They are busy, busy.... Mike is doing a few gigs with Lee Ann Womack, although she's not really touring this year... and Sam is getting ready to perform in "The Wizard of Oz" at the Donelson Senior Center in July. I'm guessing he will be a munchkin. Or a winged-monkey. We'll see. I'll be proud either way!!
